of rides, shows, and characters for
kids of all ages to enjoy. Located in Blowing Rock, just
off Highway 321, Tweetsie Railroad is a favorite
for many visitors who come to the High Country, and is
widely known among locals for having the best
Fourth of July fireworks celebration in the
area.
Spending the day at Tweetsie Railroad will

entertainment and thrills. In addition to the
historical #12 locomotive, the rides at Tweetsie
Railroad have been putting smiles on kids' faces
since 1957. The go-carts, tilt o’whirl and chair
lift rides are enjoyed by bigger children while
the planes, boat rides, and mini mouse train are
best enjoyed by smaller youngsters. The theme
park also features a deer park and gem mine for families to enjoy
as well.
The shows featured at Tweetsie Railroad NC are
family oriented, and full of action. The famous
train ride show is featured each time the train
leaves the park for its scenic 30 minute
train ride through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Children will love the cowboys and Indians, and
cheer on the deputies as they ride through the 3
mile loop. In addition to the famous train ride
show you can also watch the can-can showgirls
at the Cowboy Canteen theatre while
enjoying delectable snacks and drinks. Smaller
shows are featured daily at the park including a
magic show, a jamboree show and various comedy
acts. Each season the park also hosts several
events like A Day out with Thomas, the Riders in
the Sky concert series and various clogging
competitions.
